Description

Every year at October 3rd the City of Leiden (Holland) celebrates its liberation from the Spanish siege under king Philips the 2nd in 1573 and 1574. As a kind of reward for withstanding the siege the city got a university. The university was housed in a former chapel that was now called 'The Academy Building'. It is still the main building and is used for lectures and official occasions such as graduation and promotion. The picture shows The Academy Building taken from the 'Rapenburg'; one of the finest canals in the city.

beautiful capture! mijn vader werkt in leiden en heeft deze feestdag zeker gemerkt, qua omzet. Hij had maar 3 klanten. Zelf wil ik over een jaar ook naar Leiden, psychologie studeren.
