Description

THE CHRONICLES OF INTHANDONIA: PART THREE The Chamber In a large laboratory Chamber somewhere in the Unwest* wing of the Wizitch Incorporated Impossible castle the Wizard waves a pendulum over the green glowing scrying crystal. The Spacewitch hurries to join him.Together they race to interpret the data streaming in from the Magisphere. All too soon the picture becomes clear – there has been a series of massive and unprecedented pulses of energy throughout the Leyline networks wrapping the entire planet. These energy pulses appear to have broken through the barrier to a previously unknown dimension. Now, at various locations all over Inthandonia, scattered like bloodspots, sections of another reality are overlaid onto the Inthandonian continuum. It is at these points that Qloom the previously hidden City of the Magus becomes accessible as the alternate reality generators maintaining the dimensional gap between the two existences fail. Wizard and Witches eyes meet above the hot magickal sensing arrays. There is no need for words, the machines all say the same thing – the first part of the Prophecy has come true – the Lost City of Magick has returned to Inthandonia. *Footnote: The Wizitch Castle is far more ‘impossible’ than outside appearances would suggest. From outside it looks like as fairly standard Pheldan Tower, apart from its improbable location. But, like the City of Qloom itself, only on a smaller scale, the Wizitch Headquarters are pan dimensional and so are far larger on the inside than on the outside. Wizitch Castle does possess a West wing but existing in the same place only located somewhere else entirely, is the Unwest wing where Wizard practices his alchemical and magickal experiments.

(Please click image for closer view) This Image, rendered with Vue 6 Pro Studio, has been something of a major undertaking for me. Virtually everything (no pun intended) was made specifically for this picture using trueSpace and The GIMP. The map on the wall, centre left, was a major work in itself. The character meshes are made by me with trueSpace and will hopefully be used in future pictures. Building my own characters rather than using Poser or DAZ Studio and creating my own props and textures is an indication of the budget I have for doing my 3d Art. Any available money goes on hardware and software with nothing left over for commercially available 3d resources – so I make my own.

This is a truly amazing scene showing your excellent modelling skills!! I have to say that of all the wonderful things you've created here, the one that really caught my eye is the crystal ball on the stand supported by unicorns(well, theylook like unicorns). I have something very similar but there are 3 unicorns instead of 2 :-)

This is a wonderful showcase of your design, modeling and compositional skills. A true labour of love - I hate to think how long this took to put together. Brilliant work, Steve!

Mmm...just like a Medieval Tardis, I'm sure the good Doctor and his incarnations would be impressed ! Very kool job on creating your own props and characters to enhance your scene ! IMHO, I think power of the candle light is a bit too much as it is flaring out some the objects on the desk, just like 500 watt halogen light...suggestion, make the candle lights colour slightly yellowish and turn down the intensity, then add another ceiling light/candle to light up the areas which would be darker from turning down the intensity...I hope that helps ? Well done & ~Cheers~
