Description

I sometimes try to use underexposure to emphasize an aspect in the photo. Here I wanted the water to be deep blue, in a way as blue as the sky. Some people will call the vignetting especially in the upper-left corner a fault of the lens but sometimes it may give a special mood to the picture. And the subject? It is the Hortus botanicus in Leiden(Holland), the oldest botanical garden in the Netherlands. Founded 1590 the garden has approximately the same age as the University and is still used for educational purposes.

Beautiful result! I love the deep, rich colors you've achieved with this.

love the picture! great special effect by underexposure. nide reflections and colours. like the plant on the right, it gives an extra dimension to the capture (het coulissen-effect, als ik me niet vergis). well done!
