Description

Her pilgrim soul(A Nekhbetsun tribute). This is my tribute to one of my first Renderosity friends. Her artist name was Nekhbetsun. Also know in these galleries as Mina. Unfortunately she died of cancer, on 31. may 2010. 4 months ago. During a period of time when i was mostly far away from the Internet. I got the sad news in a private email a week after her death. A shame she had to leave us so soon, only 62 years old. But i feel very lucky to have known her for 2-3 years. We had a lotta fun doing comments on each others work. I'm gonna miss that too. You can still see her amazing 2D gallery here for as long as Renderosity, and Mina's daughter Heather, allow it to stay online. She was a master in 2D graphics: Click here to see the amazing Nekhbetsun gallery before it is gone. Mina deserves a special tribute for many reasons. She was a very funny person, who made people feel good. A very humorous, cheerful and sweet person. It is easy to see when reading her comments on the first 22 images in my gallery. She commented on most of the 154 images in my old gallery, which now only excist in PDF files offline. And i am glad i have all comments printed in PDF format to read when i feel like it. She was the one who taught me, how to work in photoshop with layers and brushes, using her methods. So i got to the the level of 2D photoshop work, where i am now... thanks to Mina's knowledge and teaching. The image of this post etc. contains more than 100 Photoshop layers. Mina emailed me all her personally developed Photoshop brushes, which i have used many times in this gallery. She got me started in working 2D images, and i'm glad i got a chance to thank her for that before it was too late. I cannot help thinking about her daughter and her husband... They recently had to celebrate what would have been their 39th. aniversay ... without Mina. My thoughts and condolences to them, if they ever see this. Mina also loved J.S.Bach. She played the piano too btw. But she also loved Loreena Mckennitt, and heavy bands like Ramstein. My choice of music to accompany this dedication is a beautiful piece, composed by J.S.Bach in the years 1703-1707. The title is .. Tocatta and Fugue in D-minor, also known as BWV 565. This version is with John Williams fusion rock band called Sky: Click here to hear the fusion rock version. This version is with the classical violin virtuoso, Vanessa Mae and Berlin Philharmonic orchestra: Click here the classical version. The source of inspiration for the title is beautiful poem called.. When you are old. It is written by William Butler Yates. You can read the poem here if you like Yates: Click here to read the poem. If any oldies #;oD.... saw a TV series called The Twilight Zone, back in the mid 80s. They might remember an episode of The Twilight Zone called *Her pilgrim soul*. I found it recently on youtube, posted as 4 pieces 10 minute video clips. A very, very rare clip. Relations to this episode, is also implemented in the image of todays post. It's difficult to find the right words for an image like this...what can i say... A line from one of my old heavy metal compositions..*Life is but a window...Death is but a door*...LBJ2. Thanks for any comments and faves, and for eventually reading all this.

What a wonderful tribute to Mina! She will certainly be glad of this memory! I also had the honor of knowing Mina, although not for long... she has gone way too soon! The music is perfect for this picture, Lars! You have made a magnificent work!

Wow, what a great tribute to Mina. She was a really special person and she held a big part of my render heart. I am so glad to see you continue her tradition with her tools. She would have been blushing right now, she was so humble about her gifts. It is a beautiful work you have done.

Lars, this is such a moving dedication to Mina. The love and caring you put into this comes shining through, and when combined with your words really touched me. She was a special lady who touched everyone she came in contact with and left an empty place in our hearts with her passing.

Mina was unique and special. She had an fabulous, fantastic and wild imagination and talent. She was so free to give help and advice .. all you had to do was ask. She was so supportive of so many people, how she found the time to do that I'll never know. She was one of the nicest, most wonderful, and loveliest people here. She leaves a hole in so many hearts and so many lives. I cannot think how hard it is for her family. I know she was smiling over your shoulder as you were creating this, she would have just loved it. A fantastic surreal piece, and wonderful music you chose for her, a beautiful heartfelt dedication.

My heart goes out to you, it must have been very bad to be away awhile and then discover this on your return. This is a brilliant dedication to a special woman and I am quite sure she is smiling down on you for this image. Wonderful work Lars!
