Description

They said that a crazy lady used to live in that house, all by herself. Maybe she had a dog and some cats. Some say it wasn't a dog at all, but some kind of wolf thing. And that the cats seemed to appear and disappear at will. Some say she wasn't really crazy, but a witch or a sorceress. They say she was the owner of the cemetery at one time. They say she was buried here somewhere, but no one has ever found her grave. The house is abandoned now, and no one has dared to go in it. They don't know really know if she died in the house, or if she just moved away. There's all kinds of rumors and stories about her. The one everyone believes is that she died in the house, and still lies there, and that's why there's no grave with her name on it. She's seen often walking the cemetary now, peering at the headstones as if looking for her name, or maybe just looking for someone she knew. She starts earlier as the days grow shorter, and the smell of winter is faintly in the air. She starts walking as the sun is setting low on the horizon. People don't go there at all at night, and most don't even dare go in the day. They are afraid of her, and her dog or wolf thing. Even the cats make them nervous. Ha .. what fun this was. It needed a story and this was the best I could do. Everything in the image is from my own photos except the ghostly lady, which is from faestock at Deviant Been busy with fall stuff outside, and inside. I'll be trying to catch up later. Thank you so much for wonderful comments .. and the funny ones too, you know who are, grins. Thank you for the faves, and thank you Andrea, for letting us play with that wonderful photo!

the story works! and so does the image. I saw, as these went up, how much you were doing with Halloween/Samhain, and I loved all of it, Rita. I can't comment on it all now because of time, but as I come back, I'll try to pick up others. So know that my choices are not choices "against" other images, just representative choices for now. And I love how you delve into this season, the Cross Quarter mid-point of the season when everything is shifting and everything is at its peak too. This is a lovely transformation of your photos; you've slanted the ground just right, along with the graves. You left the lady's stone (or the one next to her) upright, which makes her stand out. You used fine highlighting across the yard, esp on tips of graves, etc., and the frontmost stone is very effective! You made the house look like it was half standing and half falling over (and dark). And the sky is dark and looming & a bit angry, lol. And the woman looks like she's stealing away, and checking around to be sure no one is following her, as she walks toward the mists...A perfect fantasy for the season---no other mid season conjures these wonderful stories the way fall does. Spooky and fun, and as always, very well done. I'll stop here for now, only because I have to, not because I want to. I hope to be back soon. Good luck with your redecoration, once more! I hope it's all great in the end!
