Description

I found these pictures while hunting for a shot of a relative at a party. I didn't know I even had them. They are from the craft project I was involved with in 2005. We built a complete fairy village, to display on a table top. There was about 15 buildings and a bridge over a stream. Most of the "artists" had never used clay before. The project was to help adults with health problems or unemployed to try new art based experiences. We had stained glass, jewellery making, clay sculpting, photography, card making, needlecraft, flower arranging, window dressing and the usual drawing and painting. These where in 10 weekly sessions. I was gutted when the application to continue failed at the last hurdle to get funding from the lottery. It was a very happy and creative project to be involved in. There was hundreds of pictures taken during the project. They "dissappeared" as they where kept on the project computer. They where vastly different sizes, the photos make them look the same hight. I made these two!

Fabulous!! and what fun!! The same fate could well befall the some of the 'Mind' projects. Our present council in Bournemouth cares rather more about road surfaces than mental welfare.

We wouldn't need money from the lottery if the monies paid into government and such by the people was used in the right way! Unfortunately, this will never be the case and wonderful projects like this fall by the wayside. These two are marvellous! ^=^

Someone has a great imagination and a natural flair for handling clay. These are very fairytale like and I bet the whole project was popular. What a great shame the funding stopped. We have a lot of untapped talent which is never seen. thanks Kevin.
