Description

From a visit to my local nature reserve. There was about 25 fruits all around a pile of reeds cut last year. They were well composted down on the edge of a pine wood. I have several types to identify yet from my walk. They well be posted soon as I get the info. My book says they can upset the stomach of a minority of people if eaten. I have eaten these as well as the common Parasol Mushroom. I do not collect any fungi to eat from the reserve. You can play "Spot the Spider" on this one Andrea. We are finding lots of the eastern europeans now in the country collecting every edible fungi and eating the large carp from the ponds too. This is the cultural differances that make maintaining a nature reserve difficult. They are just havesting seasonal produce from nature as thet have always done. Like we collect Blackberries for instance. It is after all free food from nature. It is a fact few british would eat wild fungi or fish if they had to collect it themselves. This is mostly due to our ignorance of natures foods and cultural upbringing.

Marvellous light in this, Kevin, did you use your little reflector? I see her on the parapet, good thing she has her abseiling kit. Funny thing about cultural differences.I had a Chinese girl, who had read on the Studentpad website that anyone staying with me MUST like dogs, come to the door and wet herself with terror when the dogs greeted her. She must have thought I meant as a main course.
