The link to the BBC story provided by the artist only highlights the true question. Linda Norgrove, a Scottish aid worker, was taken hostage by members of the Taliban in Kunar Province in eastern Afghanistan on 26 September 2010. As a factual aside, it is important to note that while in power, the Taliban enforced one of the strictest interpretations of Sharia law ever seen in the Muslim world, and became notorious internationally for their abuse and mistreatment of women. While the death of Linda Norgrove is a tragedy: consider what is the greater evil, the actions of those who violated Linda Norgrove’s innate human rights by taking her captive against her will (the Taliban) or the actions of those who took up the cause to right this injustice by acting to free her? The Taliban acted with intent when they violated Linda Norgrove’s human rights, her tragic death was an accidental consequence of those who acted to defend her human rights. The artist is notably vague in regards to the real issue: the right of a woman to be free or not. His statement: “Freedom bombs,” suggests it is the Western world’s notion of freedom that is at fault – I would suggest otherwise, it is the actions of the Taliban, those who who unjustly imprisoned this woman, that bear the greater weight of condemnation.

I agree with wblack.

He, he, he. Nothing new, the Taleban was using her as a human shield and the special forces are expert in killing human shields.

Good to see that the irony isn't getting missed here.
intro
Won't SOMEBODY just tell me what it takes to get this ridiculous conflict done? A)Tell me in ten words: What's the payoff? B)Tell me in ten words: What constitutes a win? If the answer to either A) or B) cannot REALISTICALLY be obtained, I'd say we're DONE! Clearly Afghanis and Americans have different ways. We don't want theirs here, and they don't want ours there. But their tanks aren't rollin' down our streets. This is America's war now. WE own THE PRESENT. But war IS a crap shoot. Good people die. Right or wrong: You go there...you take your chances. I don't believe in happy war stories. In fairness, I suppose that grenade ought to be blue. Or at least, red, white, and blue.

:) Cheers nurbster. @wblack/Nod. You are totally missing the point. Please don't try and tell people what I am 'suggesting' as you are most likely wrong. Thanks for the comments though. Glad they are not pages long.......

@lightingarts : I comment on all work if I like it or not. If you want me to 'go and f**k myself' "Ma va a farti fottere 'a mbecilloide! E questi sarebbero i tuoi lavori? Te me sa che sei tutto scemo e invidioso! You, must to grow up! Fesso! Ahaha!" please have the common courtesy to say it in English. And no, I am not jealous of your work. Why do you get so upset when people say something about your pics? You must grow up LOL.
turner
@lightningarts: Is 'art work' posted here not to be both praised and criticized? If you allow people to post comments both 'critical' AND 'non critical' you should accept them, and not get into some childish name calling game when you disagree with one.
turner
@LIGHTINGARTS: you back AGAIN? How many times have you 'commented' now? 7? 8? 9? LOL. Ah.... petty insults 'failed artist' etc.... lol. That hurts from such an acclaimed artist like yourself. ;) p.s. I have not commented on EVERY one of your pics. I can't be bothered. ;)
turner
LOL. Lighningarts has removed his offensive comments.
