Rose said to Toxic Sunshine,"We need to talk. Alone." Obett said,"You can use the starboard 'briefing room'. Or what ever it was originally. It has a table, pop-up viewer and a some places to sit." Rose nodded,"Perfect!" She stopped nodding and put a hand to her head."Ugh. I must not nod until after we get back to the Nautilus. I think I might have a concussion after running my head into King's. I AM disturbed by this sudden inversion of probability. In any event, thank you, Obett." She grabbed Toxic Sunshine by the hand and dragged her out of the room, while she gazed at Keo. The two Thenas were in the briefing room, having an animated discussion about how to break their existence to their older brother. When Rose came in,one said,"How about we just walk in and shout,'PIM-POM! I'm twins now! Gotta love them goofy alien artifacts! Right?'" The other rolled her eyes. Toxic Sunshine froze in shock. "I'm seeing double with ONE EYE? TWO THENAS? What happened?" Rose walked over and sat down on the sofa-like structure and flipped up the flat viewer. She said without looking at anyone in particular,"Everyone sit down. This is convoluted and it's best I just show you from my own memories. This will be on a three second delay and edited for content, so bear with me." While Rose set up, Toxic Sunshine remarked,"I'm glad you got me away from Keo. Jeet said that the Spirit of Toxic is in me? Must be. I noticed a DEFINITE difference in my thought pattern! I usually think of Prince all the time, but since I woke up on the Erlution Battleship... I've only had eyes for Keo! MOM! Did he do SOMETHING to me? What's wrong with me?" Rose had an opaque, unreadable look as she interfaced with the viewer. She said quietly in an ominous tone, "Something I hope to remedy promptly. This whole situation started because I had a seemingly brilliant idea and didn't listen to Toxic..." She showed them how she feared for her daughter and Thena. How the Thena on the ship turned out to be a 'Remote-Piloted-Body' used by the Erhlutians as a spy until they had copied Thena in an ancient Altha-Krommium artifact. Also how Toxic had duplicated Sunshine with her own shape-changing ability. Afterwards... the silence was like a mass of ice creaking under it's own weight. One of the Thenas said in a whisper,"That explains Sunshine's hair. I thought she got her hair done. Sunny? Are you really TOXIC?" She shook her head. "No...NO! I'm sure I'm not! I don't EVER remember BEING Toxic! DO you know which is the copy and which is the original?" The Thenas shook their heads. Rose said,"I'm seeing two Sunshines,too. Pretty funny,King! 'Sunny'... before the Battleship...WHAT was the last clear memory you had?" Sunny shrugged,"I was bored out of my mind after you locked me in the brig. I wished I was somewhere else and went to sleep. No sense of me being awake through the whole twenty-three hours of it... Then I was carrying Keo. We were in some kind of alien maintenance corridor and we were naked and covered in blood. Between those two points are a blank. Heck! My clock is still out of sync! I DO NOT remember being Toxic! I'm SUNSHINE! You can twirl me in the air and call me YOUR little helicopter if you want,mom!" Rose rocked back, pierced to the core. She got on the communicator and choked out, as tears rolled hotly down her cheeks,"Tall White Lady! I'm not getting through to her. Let's try Jeet's plan,then." The little girl asked,"What's wrong,Mom?" TWL started singing the ancient song of bells and chimes through the ship. The girl stood up suddenly. After a moment, she flowed like liquid into a more mature form of rainbow hue. Toxic fell to her knees as the Thenas gasped. Toxic gasped out,"Let's NOT do that again..." Rose closed her eye and put a hand over her face and wept silently. Toxic got up and left the room without a word to go hide somewhere else in the ship. --to be continued!--
