Description
I've been considering posting some of my Iraq pics and thought this one would be a good one to start with.
Taken in Nov-Dec 2003 in an abandaned Iraqi military prison that was coverted to our use, near the northern Iraq city of Tel A'far.
I'm the PFC on the right (the left as you look at the pic) with my M4 and my team leader/gunner James Ramey, with the M240b light machine gun. It was about 30 degrees F that day and we'd just finished with an 8 hr patrol riding on the open back of one of those un-armored Humvee's in the background.
Thanks for looking and any comments.

Man, you guys ROCK!!!!!!! Great photo, and glad you're home safely!! Can't be fun riding an unarmoured Humvee with those insurgents planting IEDs all over the place. Thank you - both for posting this, and for the job you do!!

Great shot. That machine gun looks anything but light!!!!!! I've never believed in that war, but I have the utmost respect for the warriors. You are all very brave.

Thank you for your service. I was there in 05-06, but it had calmed down a lot from 03, while i was there we went from getting mortared twice a week to once every 2 months by the time i left. glad you made it back!

Glad you made it home to share pictures like this...My dad took a lot of picture during WW2 that I still look thru...While I know it would be time consuming, may I suggest you put them all together in an album for safe keeping...It seems such things out last the digital images...Thanks
