this is awash in organic "grain", or a kind of 'partially decayed surface', like a stone wall decayed, or rocks in a forest that nature has taken-over. It's so exuberant, with the bold linear strokes, your typical blobs and splashes of color, your sense of horizon & foreground---as abstract as you get, you're always deeply rooted in nature---and your usual sense of color, used as individual characters in a story. Further, there's a kind of "fence" that runs up and down the piece, maybe a meshwork that we can see through. And with all that spotty grain through the piece, it seems like it's alive with algae & lichen & fungus & molds, all vivid and growing in symbiosis with the whole. Wonderful again, and it's amazing how much variety you get from image to image.
