------------- Tales of the Raptor – Raptor Formation
When agents of rogue forces in the Western UnderDark decided to move against Syvasgaard, their first act was an attempted assassination of the guest speaker at the Kar’Dhaer graduation ceremonies in the early summer of 18566, the Dowager Duchess Tawny Drake Steward. Their attempt was thwarted. Those who knew, suspected such a clumsy act was not a serious attempt, but a diversion for other nefarious plans, a distraction to draw their attentions away from the real plot, whatever that might be.
It had been Lord Corthellian’s new apprentice, a Sonntaglian named Jonathan Hawke, that had announced student involvement in breaking up the plot by slamming into one of the Drow assassins, smashing through a third story window, and plummeting to the Kar’Dhaer bailey to certain death. No one really noticed who it was that saved them, but they all saw the Headmistress quickly neutralize the assassin almost immediately afterwards. They also saw the supposedly mortally wounded Tawny Drake stand up, smile and brush away the illusionary wounds she’d apparently suffered.
The seven students involved were quickly escorted to the Headmistress’ office. Not surprisingly, the band had already started forming a Venture Company. It wasn’t until Tawny offered Hawke and his friends a flight to the city of their choice to exchange the goods they’d taken from the Drow assassins, and a weeklong vacation, that they finally decided on a name. Maybe she thought Hawke’s plummet from a tower of Kar’Dhaer to save her life and thrash a villain was a sign.
“Mr Hawke. I wish you and the rest of your Raptors every future success.”
By the time they’d returned from Nice Little Place, the Night Raptors had a formal registery;
Faize Sheifa Beleth, a Sylvisan Elf Scout from near Dient, Foxmoor,
Gwendolyn Pleiades, a Half Amethyst-Dragon Kar’Thane Warrior from Hellenia,
Brother Jonathan Hawke, a Sonntaglian Priest, ex-Ranger, and Demonhunter in training,
Jarah Mahdi Beni-K'Dar al'Durran, a Psi-Warrior and Master Sergeant of the Symballan Feyhd’ahki,
Kamilah Zahara Beni-K’Dar al’Durran, a Mystic of the Church of Isis,
Persia Montgomery Fawcett, a Half-Diamond Dragon / Zeigus Elf Psionicist and Explorer from Xanthius,
and Tieran Madalena Vallour, a Zeigus Elf Spellsinger, Spy and Assassin from New Calladon.
Naturally, the first real adventure they engaged in was a trip through the Syvasgaard World gate into the dark and terror filled hallways and caverns of Old Calladon. Their mission? Find out what the Splinter Kingdom Drow were up to there. Needless to say, they started down a path of adventure that none would have foreseen.

Superb characters, poses, expressions, clothing, textures, background, lighting and shadows.

The two half-dragons believe that skin is the best armor of all! x) I'm sure Persia's going to be jonesing for some shapeshifting light armor or rings pretty soon :D Great group makeup! The karthane looks completely out of place, however. And really, it's all because of the flux rift. The outfit matches with the theme, though. And no, I'm not bashing the image. I'm just pointing out what pops into mind when first looking at it. "Fantasy group and a hot sith chick". Btw, love the lighting with the flux rift!

Super image with so much attention to detail. Fits the fine storyline well. Well done.

Wonderful characters!

Jurassic Park theme immediately came into my mind when I read Raptor. I need to find a break in family matters and make it over there especially with Old Calladon being home of a succubus. Nimrod would feel so at home on the lower levels. The group, as a unit, is good. I like how you grouped the characters. They look like a fine troop of scoundrels.
