Description

The Witches Tower in Ladenburg / Germany. It is a part of the city wall built in 1200. Witches were not burned in Ladenburg. The tower contained a prison on the ground floor for thieves and other criminals. The door was one story high. From there, the thieves were been thrown into the so-called "hole". Thanks for looking.

It is interesting how they treated the insane back in the Medieval times (as told to us when visiting Nuremberg a few years ago), and things haven't changed much. They are usually thrown into jail instead of the dungeon. It is an appalling witness to humanity. I am glad things improved a little, but wish for it to be far better for those who seem to be different, and have a harder time adjusting. Yes, at least they have wide screen TVs now, but still. :-)
