Description

This one isn't done--the bump maps on the top belts are wrong, and I may not keep the silky texture for the skirt, but I loved how you can see how good the skirt can look...the skirt is a conforming piece, not dynamic, and all that nifty swooping is done with built-in morphs. It did take me a couple of tries to figure out the best movement morphs were under the BodyParts selection above the preview window--that way you can grab the part you need, to move easily to fit even an extreme pose like this one. (Modified from the Exquisite Poses for M4 on the MP). I also discovered that nice silky shine is what you get from having a separate specular map that has it's own pattern on it, like what you get when you use the filter Clouds and then spin it a little in the Blur filter menu; or here with a second image map of feathers (you can barely see them in the top image.) And if you want a great fabric bump, make a new layer of your texture map, fill it with a light gray, run Noise on it, use Motion Blur at about 25 pixels, then duplicate that layer, rotate it 90 degrees, put it on Overlay (or any other tranparent blending mode), squish it down on the first noise layer-- and now you have a nice grayscale fabric texture for your Bump channel!

Hey Lynn, thanks for the tip on the bump... even if I understood the second word you said about it... geees... dumb arse Kiwi blokes like me rely on blokesess like you to do all the hard work for us... when it comes to materials. Having said all this tripe... I wonder what a 25 - 30mm lens would do for this guy... pose is a goodie!

Interesting tips! While I really like the fabric textures, the thing that caught my eye was the boots, especially image #2, that leather looks fantastic!

You delve into esoteric areas of Poser which I have not yet dared to plumb. Nice effects and excellent posing of the clothing.

Oh, what a move, what an elegance! I really like that pose and especially how the skirt shows the motion... and besides, it shines so my mouth is watering! Lol... Thank you also for the tiny tutorial on how to create a bump map for a fabric texture - that can be useful! :) Vashek

This one is gawjus too!! I'm impressed with the amount of movement in the skirt as well- you can get it to work with almost any pose! So thanks for getting me to buy it! ;o) Those are some nifty tips for a bump map- it can be overwhelming on how many ways you can make a texture work! :o)

The dynamics of the skirt are like poetry in motion! What a fantastic pose. I love how you presented him from different angles. The texture is superb and the reflections in the floor really set it off. Thank you for the tips on the bump maps!

Sounds way to technical for me Lynn. That skirt just has natural folds to it too. Love the blue too!

That one is my favourite texture I think. Maybe because it's blue but also your silk looks really good. I really like the pose too and how the skirt swirls. Now I'm reconsidering getting the Euros outfit :) Beautiful presentation.

I think the watery specular highlights on the outfit are a raging success. Very slick looking.
