Description

UF5/PSP Thank you for stopping for a look. Any and all comments are always welcome. With some adjustment on the mapping tab i got this formula to change from a flat image up into a pyramid. I liked the look of this and the way the coloring turned out I am happy with. But after it was rendered i am thinking maybe something would have helped better to achieve what i was looking for. If anyone that is familiar with this type of manipulation has any suggestions i would be very grateful. That is one of the things i love about fractals, there is always something new to learn, and luckily on a site like this there is always someone around that understands enough about these complicated programs they can offer suggestions. Jim

Excellent effect Jim. Don't know what you did but if it is any help, you can make any geometric solid you like using the "plane" function in the 3D mapping algorithm. You create your original surface (in the shape of a triangle, square, trapezoid or whatever)and then each face in the 3D solid is a new layer. You control their respective positions via the parameters in the "plane" function. If that is what you already did, kudos. If you want me to elaborate, drop me a line. Stan

What fascinates me about this image is the way the planes seem to be open one minute and then closed when you look again. It's like a Chinese puzzle and I wouldn't alter one hair of it!

The pyramid is nicely done even though the peak seems to have been snapped off. Kind off an optical illusion

Really fascinating how the inner bright color (flames) like to move, while looking at them. Fantastic, Jim.

A lovely pyramid. That is what I love about fractals you never really know what is going to show up, at least I don't.

What a wonderful piece of work. Outstanding reflections in the glass image. You say often that you are trying out new pics and designs. And you always end up with excellent work.
