Description

Eight Falsehoods (that right-wingers would LIKE YOU to believe) 1.Obama tripled the deficit. (No: it is lower than in Bush's last budget.) 2.Obama raised taxes. (No: the "stimulus" contained a big tax cut.) 3.Obama bailed out the banks. (No: the bailout happened before Obama took office.) 4.The "stimulus" failed. (No: the CBO estimates it created 1-3 million jobs.) 5.Businesses will hire if they get tax cuts. (No: They will hire when they sell more products.) 6.Health-insurance reform will cost $1 trillion. (No: The Congressional Budget Office says it will save $138 billion.) 7.Social security is a Ponzi scheme. (No: it will continue to be solvent for 25 years.) 8.Government spending takes money out of the economy. (No: government buys stuff and hires people.) Don't waste EVERYBODY'S time asking for supporting links....They're all over the place. Do your own homework. Preach it, brother. Problem is, too many people are willing to sit back and let Faux News do their thinking for them to bother taking the time to check for themselves. I've gotten to the point that I halfway hope the Republicans do win big just so America can see we were right about how bad things will be with them at the helm. The only thing that keeps me from going that direction entirely is the very real fear of just how bad those things will be...

1)The deficit increased about twenty three percent in less than two years, not tripled, true. And it was congress that did it. Congress authorizes spending, the president signs off on it. So calling them Bush or Obama's budgets is wrong. 2)What tax cut? I damn sure have not seen one. 3)Obama was one of the senators who voted in favor of the bailout. So he is one of the people responsible. But it's not fair for anyone to throw it on him alone. 4)The white House itself said that the stimulus has failed. 5)Business' will not expand if the government is going to just take an ever increasing share of their profits. People go into business to make money, not to be an endless source of revenue for socialist programs. Nor do they go into business to create jobs. People who do that don't last long. 6)You should listen to the news more often. Even the New York Times says that Obamacare will cost more, not less. 7)Social security will not last another twenty five years. That is wishful thinking. Every year, there are fewer people paying to support those who are in the system. And it's about to get worse when the baby boomers start retiring. 8)Just where does government get the money to buy things and hire people? Us! They don't have a pile of their own money. It's taken from us in the form of taxes.

@ the kingtut. 1. So you concede point 1. 2. Then you are either self-employed or don't take payroll withholding deductions. 3.So you concede point 3. 4.Whatever the White House ALLEDGEDLY said, 3.000,000 jobs is 3,000,000 jobs. 5. Wrong. More jobs means more buyers means more demand. Simple. 6. You should read ME more often...Who died and made the Times a god? 7. Hmmm... who should I believe thekingtut or the CBO...No brainer there. 8. SO.....? The last Great Republican Depression was fixed by government jobs, and THIS Great Republican Depression WILL ALSO be fixed by GOVERNMENT JOBS. I'd rather pay taxes to MY government than fill up some bank accounts in the Grand Cayman Islands ANY DAY. What's the GOP solution? More tax breaks to outsource to Asia!

thekingtut is right on even the washinton post say thekingtut is right... sound like louisiana goverment. they say the Superdome would cost so much money... when it was finish the superdome costed 3x what the CBO estimates was... anyway in the year 2011 we dong down big times with the noney... remember China own us now, we are slaves to China thanks to Congress which Obama voted for when he was there. it do not matter who in office. They both belong to the one world goverment anyway and they trying they best to make it so. The middle east will be ruleing or is it the EU? I hearde both sides. it do not matter for the anti-christ will come and rule the world for 3 and halve years then Jesus will come and cast him into the fire alive. So all going along as the Bible say it will in the last days

No offense jocko, but IMHO the Washington Post is the worst Right-Wing Rag ever written. I prefer to trust the CBO. BTW HOW was the CBO involved in the Superdome? That's a state deal, and besides it was ...what...45+ years ago? Trust me...If we stopped buying goods from China you'd see who owns who.
