Description
Part of the armoured vehicle display was putting them through their paces. Maybe this Ratel driver was a bit too exuberant over the obstacle ... all I can say this that I would not like to be a troop in the back of one of these in a situation like this!
I have been weary of posting these images - thanks for all the positive feedback. For some there is a lot of our history captured by these 'tin cans' especially for the Ou Manne.
Design work began in 1968, with prototypes completed in 1974. Production of the basic Ratel-20 started in 1976, which entered operational service in 1977.
At first I thought maybe a prototype, but looking at images of the Ratel in the Congo (DRC), it would appear they are part of the U.N. peacekeepers in the area. Hence the white scheme.

I remember that one of our drivers while in such a Ratel drove into a big ditch and so broke his arm. Stunning capture Clive.

What, you mean everything is not all contoured and padded inside, and it doesn't have a soft-ride suspension? Ha ha! That would be a head cracker for sure!

Amazing photo of the Ratel. I don't think you need to be weary of posting the photo. You can simply google 'ratel' and chances are good that you will get many pictures of it on the net. Well done Clive!
