There is a legend
Told among those who have
Gazed into the burning golden eyes of the Blue Wolf
Of how this creature of mystery walks silently through the
Shimmering mist of moonlight
Amongst the ancient spirits of the forest
Gathering wisdom forged from the fires of experience
So that she can return again
And teach us all she has come to know
She tells those who are wise enough to listen
That within each of us lives the spirit of the blue wolf
A flame that burns for knowledge ... for freedom
A soul that leaves the comfort of the pack
To travel the world of the unknown
Singing the haunting song of life's refrain
Crying to be heard in the darkness
Stumbling, walking, running
Through obstacles and fears
Learning to trust our instincts
And ultimately
To embrace the journey.

Credits: Another in my 'Spirit Of The Wild' wolf series, in keeping with the spirit of the Halloween season, and paying tribute to the mysterious Blue Wolf, who some say is more than a legend. Created in Photoshop CS, using wolf photos, painting techniques, blended with a background by Cebare, a background by folkvanger, and tree brushes by mystikel.

I've gazed into wild wolf eyes while at work in Colorado Springs - lol... I use to clean vents clear of Grease at restaurants... it was a night/morning gig for two years. I walke out into a parking lot where our van was. My boss was sitting in the driver's seat. I was standing outside the van, his door was open, as I talked to him, he just stared forward and softly told me we were being watched. I looked and there were at least 5 wolves standing completely still and staring at us. they were less than two horse pits = about 80 feet... my safety area behind me was 50 feet. I told him I was going in and if they charged I was jumping into the van, so get ready to move - lol... they didn't want us, they wanted the garbage behind us - still, it's a moving experience when you look into the glowing yellow eyes of a black wolf and you know, if they would of wanted me, I had a very small window of safety. cool picture.... so what exactly does it mean looking into their eyes? LOL
