Description

Continuing with the Harvest Time pack, took a break from texturing and thought I would model up something for fun, so a bucket. What started off with the idea of such a simple prop turned out to be a massive learning curve. Lessons learnt today; MoGraph makes work flow so much easier Attaching geom to a spline wrap modifier, why have I not been using this before! UV Mapping Geom before modifying; Learnt the hard way, take the handle for instance. I first did this using sweeps nurbs but when I came to UV Map it by selecting an edge and flat projection map and realigning using LSCM it threw me out a weird map. So, thought about it hard, modelled up a cube, grouped that with a MoGraph spline wrap modifier. UV mapped the cube, and BINGO one clean UV. Have learnt such a lot from this very simple prop. Must play more, this is fun! Rendered with UV Maps on for textures :) On a side note, I'm thinking of adding a few extra polys to the bands, what do you think? Just to round them up slightly more. Mike

Very cool....I know what you mean about sometimes seemingly 'simple' stuff takes you on a journey of learning!!

Excellent work! ;D Oh, and the bands... I think that they're perfect, but just for comparison, make one ans see which you like best. Again, amazing work!!!

Not really necessary: 1.) It is hammered iron, so it has edges and isnĀ“t perfectly round. 2.) Poser7 accept, if you have smoothed your mat-groups in your modeler, so you can smooth it there.(Have not tested this out in P8 or 2010, but hope it works there too) Nice chance to save polygon-count
