Welcome to my homepage!
I am new to this whole homepage / website thing. I love photography but am a novice with that too! My brother and friend post on here regularly and I was curious so got on and really like what I see so I figured I would give it a try.
I really enjoy nature photography especially macrophotography. I usually use a 35 mm camera using slide or print film but have switched into the digital because it's great for the environment and it its much more flexible. The most beautiful things in life to me are the most simple and often overlooked.
I have always been the black sheep (non-artist) in a family of very talented artists. I would love to connect with other folks who are interested in nature photography.Â
Peace, KateÂ

WOW! This is cool. I don't know diddly-squat about flowers and so the only way I even know that these are tulips is because you said so. All of that aside, this is a great shot. I love the nicely jaunty angle of the flowers in frame and the colors are superb. I like the clarity and the way this seems as if you were sitting right smack dab in the middle of a flower bed as you took this. This is a fantastic first post! Excellent Depth of Field too...I love the way it looks nice and crisp, but still a bit dreamy. As for living inside one of these...I never actually thought of that, but now that you mention it, they do have a nice sort of "tea cup" shape inside. Okay, I'm gonna shut up now! But before I do that...welcome to Renderosity, and this is a great start to your gallery! I look forward to seeing more.

his is really beautiful. I like this a lot. It has a painterly quality about it that's quite mesmerizing. The background fades away from the clarity of the foreground, giving a really awesome sense of depth. All-in-all this is a really cool shot. It's one I could see framed and placed prominently on a wall where everybody can see it. As for living inside plants, I've often wondered what it would be like as well. I've always wanted to live inside a tree although I've heard if you are going to live inside of a flower, a sunflower has more closet space. Glad to see you posting here on Renderosity and I look forward to seeing more of your work. Welcome to Renderosity, I think you'll like it here.

Welcome to Renderosity! This beautiful photograph caught my eye while I was browsing the Photography Gallery, and when I clicked it open to comment, I noticed Chip and Corey had already been here. Click click click ... all of a sudden I tumbled to the fact that you must be Corey's sister! :D (Sometimes I'm a little slow, but I get there in the end.) So you are doubly welcome, in my book. I love this photograph for its light and color, composition and depth of field, so you are most welcome as a photographer. Your brother is a friend of mine, so you're welcome as the sister of a friend as well! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your photography. This image is superb!

Right before I came here, I was in Corey's gallery at long last (I've been absent from RR for a long time, and catching up has been a slow process of a few galleries each day, this week). And I saw that you were C's sister, and your mother was there too: Wow! Family! Well you have the art gene too, I felt it when I saw your gallery the very first time. I agree with tara (auntietk) and Richard (Richardphotos), etc, that this is a beautiful capture. Not just for all the reasons stated, but for the luminous quality in the petals and the feeling of light coming through them. A fine first upload. I see you've got several more now, and I hope you post many more after that. And as for living inside the flowers---since several people gave their thoughts---I think it would fascinating until a bee came around, at which point I'd call 9-1-1 and get the hell outa there in no time. But it would be great to see stamens as giant redwoods, and I imagine the fragrance would be overpowering...
