I have been into photography for over 40 years, and the pull doesnt lessen. As a family we have always been keen walkers, and that gets you to some interesting places.Ive recently been to Southern India as a member of an adult support team with our local community school to Chennai so the camera never cooled down i can tell you, (watch this space). I live in Chard South Somerset, and have fairly recently converted to digital, at first reluctantly, but now enthusiastically. Its great to hear others comments on your pictures and i am looking forward to loading up my space. Alan. I can see already that you handle difficult subjects with a great deal of poetry. Shooting into this kind of shadow, and dealing with this kind of light filtering through all those branches and leaves could be a major challenge to many photographers; it's a major challenge to painters too (the area I come from); but you've produced an image that is whole, organic, and powerful. The canopy of dark all around this opening makes the opening feel like a glimpse into a secret place; and the water---rippled intensely---seems to atomize the leaves until they half dissolve in the water's reflection. It's beautifully seen & done. The branches are captured so that they move in the direction of the water. And the leaves beyond the water's light are a tapestry. Very fine work, and a lesson for those of us who are still learning that shots like these are possible, but they take a lot of eye, thought and vision, all of which you've shown here.
