Description
I've been trying to branch out stylistically in my space ship designs, and one of the people who've consistently inspired me is Chip, known around here as Chipka. That he's the AOtM for October is only fitting, because if you've ever read his writings, I'm sure you'll understand why I find his Nemaeans so fascinating. So, with his very kind permission I've tried my hand at rendering my own version of what their ships might look like.

One of the many things that interests me is how I get the feeling they have retained a sense of wonder, and are drawn to the exotic, and consequently dangerous, places in the galaxy.

Here we see a trio of Nemaean medium cruisers (Medium by their standards, at least...) approaching an active nebula, where new stars are being born in what will eventually be a globular cluster of massive short-lived stars.

Ya know, you can do as many of these as you want to, especially since you make these puppies look better that I can make them! I really love this scene, right down to the little Nemaean habit of flying around in threes. I still haven't figured out why they do that, but oh well! What a scene! I love your intense sense of realism and the lively dabs of science that you place in your science fiction! I love that kind of stuff anyway, and I'm quite incredibly flattered that you'd take Nemaea and actually visualize it in ways that are totally unique and fitting. Oh yeah, and those medium cruisers rock...right down to their exhaust flares. This rocks. It should come as no surprise that this is super; you do some really fantastic work, and this is just one example! Thank you for the dedication as well! It's quite touching...and on top of it, Nemaean ships!!!! COOL!

Yeah...your style and technique continues to improve...especially the textures. The metal on the ships looks fantastic. I would love to use another of your ships in one of my space images....or even an image of your "balanced rocks"...:)
