Description

He's back...and he ain't happy. This is my first upload to Renderosity in a long long time, and it's a sacrilegious one. While I no longer use Poser (although I still have a fondness for it) I haven't given up on a creative outlet. :) This started life this morning as a throw-away sketch of Gandalf. It wasn't until I started shading that things took an unexpected turn towards heresy. Still, at least I didn't upload the original colours (Zombie Jesus with glowing red eyes). Speaking of which, I spent far more time on the eyes than any other component. They're the window to the soul, after all. The blue/green thing is what I imagined would be a misguided attempt at fueling Jesus' everyman credibility. Like the way Hyundai used to build cars. At first glance they looked okay, but everything just felt wrong. Kinda like the people that made them had seen a car once, in a magazine, and did their best to replicate it from memory. Drawn on my iPad using ArtStudio. Thanks for looking :)

Yeah buddy! Long time it has been. I saw your name and thought how long? 2 years? I'm guessing 2 because e-brink has been away a while, but it felt like he just posted... I looked him up and then I wrote him and asked if he was ok... he's dealing with some health issues and the dr.s are trying to find the problem... you though... it feels like 2 years, I'm gonna have to check your gallery - cool cg painting, kinda makes me think of helter skelter - and "Second Coming" is a perfect title for you getting your foot back in the door. hope ya stick around for a while - lol

Hey Mike. How you doing? It's been a little over a year, I think. I agree...it feels longer. Now I'm back, I don't intend to leave; but I never intended to leave the first time. Only time will tell. :)

great to see you posting again! not using Poser any more is impressive. i definitely don't think i'm ever going to leave 3d CG, even if all i'm using is a virtual artist's mannequin. but i understand the sentiment. i like the eyes, though they seem more supernatural than ordinary. how long did this take you?

Thanks Kobalt. It's good to be posting again :). Poser was a great start for me, something to cut my teeth on while I regained my confidence; but I always knew (or at least hoped) that it would be a stepping stone...to what I don't know :). This pic took me about an hour (a hair more, but with interruptions).

I'm not so sure about 'sacrilegious', I'm thinking more like 'prophetic'. Great job on this painting, and here's hoping he doesn't look like that on his return.
