Description

Summer came back to southern California this week and I am taking full advantage of it. I took my sister's dog to Dog Beach today, which is exactly what it sounds like. A place where dogs are allowed to roam leash free and just be dogs. Not real relaxing for their people, but tons of fun for them!! There were also surfers in the water and among them, this stand up paddleboarder. It's something I'd love to try, well, not exactly this part, but the paddling looks like a lot of fun. Oh, and the waves were great, maybe 6-8 feet and just perfect!!

What a Marilyn shot! I get the impression that you could actually have taken this ON a board yourself! It's the POV as well as the subject matter! Hmmm...you've given me an idea. Waterproof camera, surfboard-sort of thingy, ocean...imagine the shots I'd get...oh but wait, I can barely ride a skateboard, what the heck am I gonna do on something IN the water...on land is hard enough!? Oh well, at least I can look at photos like this and get ideas!

This does look sorta like fun...but I'm not much of a swimmer, and I'm sure I'd end up NOT standing on the board, but clinging to it for dear life as the sharks noshed on my limbs. I'll leave it to you beach babes! Great shot!

You've introduced me to something new...have never seen a paddle used in this fashion. Can see you and your sister's dog enjoying the heck out of this place!

Take it from someone who has paddled in high surf...its only fun for a short time and then your shoulders tell you otherwise. LOL Great shot.

Looks like the dude is using a rake to collect the foam off the wave in this stellar photo, M! Love the white froth and foam in the foreground contrasted against the dark blue of the wave in the background. And, considering it's November, the current Southland weather is way too hot for me.

Beautiful contrasts, the blue and the white, and then a surfer with paddle. A winning combination, if you ask me.
