Description

Bryce7 Pro/Photoshop This came about after a call for help by JKonstantine in the Bryce Forum...needing help creating a moonlight scene in Bryce. This was what I came up with, and for those who don't frequent the forums, this was what I did.First I chose a sunset preset(Red Sunset),changed the sky colour, horizon and sun glow colours to a dark navy, the haze was turned off, shadow ambiance and sky dome colour turned to dark navy, cloud colour to grey and sun colour to pale blue.In the skylab,I turned the clouds to 3D,sun disc size and glow intensity was reduced, and the sun intensity and specularity increased to around 100.Stars were added as a custom starfield.A spotlight with soft edges and soft shadows was lined up with the moon(thanks to Orbital for that tip!)and this added soft light to the terrain and water.Land and water textures are Pro Materials by David Brinnen. There we have it,my humble approach to a very good challenge presented in the Bryce Forum!

I forgot to mention that the moon in this image is,in reality, the sun in the original sunset sky I used.By decreasing the disc size it became the moon, and the original sunlight helped add light to the night scene.

Clever! (As an aside, the sun and the moon are the same angular size as seen from earth, but I guess decreasing the disk size helps makes it look less bright)
