Description
One of the unwanted, or 'strayed ones', Beanrighe Madraigh, arrived in the middle of a thunderstorm on Midsummer day, and wreaked havoc on livestock, structures and people, within the Barony of the Summer Isles. Its vicious attacks caused the Islanders to seek shelter in Torr Castle, until SeanDubhainne, a wandering Bretainne knight and his trusty Galleighglesse axemen stopped the fearsome beast in her tracks.
'Strayed ones', whether bird, or animal or occasionally human ( or inhuman ), that passed from 'the there to the here' were often
common during the summer, maybe one or two a year to plague the peaceful island people and highlanders of Dalriata's 'Long Isles' However such visitors rarely caused the extent of damage and injury that this one did.
Stakes in a pit, hidden by branches, cut whin and fern, eventually caught the giant beast. Sticky resin torches and some nifty axe hefting finally put an end to its reign of terror. The eggs it laid prior to being trapped, in Ruidain's Cave, at the head of Glen Ruiainn, were cared for by the baron's Wise One, and came to make great magic for Shuigh Bohdair, the High Baron of the Summer Isles.
The strain of land dragon, bred from the hatchlings, made them formidable, and as it turned out, extremely intelligent and loyal, war beasts in the long, though doomed struggle against the implacable imperial ambitions of the neighbours to the south of Auld Dalriata.

Another slight tale of Dalraita, this time using the T-Rex figure. I had fun composing it, and there are numerous objects and animals off camera in this shot. Just like life. We see only part of what is going on. Sometimes we congratulate ourselves on having done well, in difficult circumstances, only to see, from an entirely different perspective, that our 'victory' was a catastrophe, our tragedy, an unexpected heartwarming, and affirming milestone in our lives and those of others.
So, my friends, be wary of spot judgements and 'jumping to conclusions', that was after all how Rex was caught eventually. Jumping in with both feet is definitely not the best type of exercise
... ;o)
Goodnight and God bless you all, John.
