I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

I like it a lot. It's got that nasty bird-of-prey (not the star trek kind - just the raptor kind) look to it.

Nice indeed!

splendid scene!

Great render! Concerning the design, I'd say that the cockpit points out of the hull too much, it's an easy target. Idem for the reactor... For the rest, great agressive look!

I really can't find anything to be brutal about, my friend! This ship is just fantastic - it would really give you chills to see a squadron of these approaching! Superb work!

Fantastic work.

The texture gives it a great, weathered effect.

Love your ships!! Excellent render. :)

You can't really call it 'good or bad', its SciFi! As long as you can rationalize your own designs, its all GOOD!

You have really developed your own style with these space pictures and they just keep getting better with every new post. Your modeling skills are also improving with every new image. Very impressive work and I look forward to seeing what you present next. Excellent my friend! Cheers, David

superbe image!!

When I look it remind sme much more of the Drazi ships - lacking quite the regal lines and coloration of the centauri, but with the mixed angles and curves and swept wings that the Drazi firehawk and sunhawk had. It does stand on it's own too, it is different enough. It is also very reminiscent of the old illustrations and paintings of many of the sci-fi ships of old "Amazing Science" type magazines - with design feature and lineage in common and taken from WWII aircraft and bombers. I like the overall feel, especially the nostalgic aspects. It takes me back to a bygone day before my time.

Very fine modeling!

I couldn't resist. I'm supposed to be logging off and going over to Corey's, so I'll do that after making ONE MORE comment. What a ship! I agree that it has a kind of Babylon-5 feel to it, but I mean that more as a compliment than a criticism, since B5 had some amazing ships, even those giant tropical fish the Minbarri flew around in. I loved them, especially since they were originally supposed to represent some physical aspect of the Minbarri that eventually got written out of the concept of the show, since Mira Furlan (Delenn) already had to deal with lots of heavy makeup to begin with...they didn't want to move too far away from her look (as an actress) but at least they kept the bone growing out of the back of the Minbarri cranium rather like a cathedral. Anyway, after a huge ramble, what really grabs me about this design is the fact that it does look alien. I wonder what might happen if you did something more symmetrical with it. I like the swept forward aspect of it, which makes for a pretty intimidating shape for something like a combat craft. I mean, you see the silhouette of that thing and you KNOW what you're dealing with. Nice bit of psychological warfare stuff going on with that. I also love the consistency of your designs...they're always great. I love the ideas that you're playing around with consistently, especially in terms of functional and compact craft. This seems a bit bigger but still marvelously functional. And there's nothing I would change about it. I do wonder, however, if you did some fiddling around with symmetry here. I love the swept forward aspect of this ship, and I wonder how it might look if you added a mirror opposite of that wing-like structure sweeping back...it would throw off the lines of the ship, but at the same time, would give it a kind of "shuriken" sort of vibe that I always like. At any rate, this is really superiorly cool, and I won't even tell you how awesome the soundtrack to Avatar is sounding as I listen to it and look at this image. You and James Horner should collaborate. :-D
