Description

This is the first stop on tour 1 - The Neptune Pool. There are 4 tours and you have to suffer the bus trip down, get on another bus and take the winding road back up to the top. The Neptune Pool at Hearst Castle was rebuilt three times to suit its owner's tastes. Its centerpiece is the façade of an ancient Roman temple that William Randolph Hearst had purchased and imported to California. You can see that temple in the back of the pool. Some info from Wikipedia and photo recently scanned. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Sounds like the owner had more money than sense but this is certainly a lovely pool.

What an ostentatious display of affluence. Marilyn/beachzz would love to swim in that pool. Too bad you couldn't have taken a helicopter to the site. In any event, excellent POV, DOF, and lighting in this shot, Dana.

I love this unbelieable clear water of the pool and its soft blue tone. Thanks for sharing this trip with us!
