Description

A haunting melody filled the air, refrains so sweet and soft, that one could weep from their beauty. Calliope's fingers grasped her bow lightly as she drew it across her violin, her heart poured out into every refrain of her sad song. She played for her sleeping god, knowing that somewhere in his slumber, he heard her messages of the world. Kita, one of the acolytes for Inona, the goddess of passion came and knelt nearby, listening to Calliope play. After the song had finished, Kita lamented that she could never play as beautifully as Calliope. Calliope shook her head and gestured to the flute in Kita's hand. " we may play differently, Kita, but the value of our music, is the same. If you play from your heart, there is no reason that your song cannot be just as beautiful. The simple creation, in itself is beautiful." Kita shook her head again. Knowing full well that she could never create such heart rendering songs. But she was warmed by the thought that what she did do, had value. Taking up her flute, she played a modest little song, the notes were light and airy, the song happy and uplifting, though simple. She trilled and played, until it made Calliope smile, giving thanks in her own way. I was thinking of one person in particular, when I created this. But I realized, that there are a few of you. Few watchers, who come peek at every picture, and share constructive advice, and encouragement. I just wanted to Express, one of the best ways I know how (the poem wouldn't form :D ) .. Thank you. Thank you all who come to peek at my stuff. :) ~ Wendy. Aka Catlina.

Dang, Pixeluna stole the word I was going to use: "eloquent"! Not just one spark, here, there are two. Your beautiful narrative gives the image life and meaning. Wonderfully done, Wendy.

You have a wonderful sense of composition and posing in your images. You are one of the few here who pays attention to where the eyes are pointing too. Also your stories are really quite excellent. I would recommend you work on two areas to progress your work a bit: More realistic textures (skin, metallics, cloth, leather) and light/shadow. Really nice work, keep 'em coming!
