Perching on her toes, She tried to see as much of the book as she could. Not that it seemed to make any difference. The writing was in some weird picture language, that Taia instantly labeled "gobeltygook". There were some very interesting pictures though. She carefully turned the pages, happily discovering that she didn't get a shock or something nasty from it. She remembered stories about enchanted books. She was exceptionally glad that this book didn't seem to be one of them. "Meti probably wouldn't be too happy if she caught you looking at that" Said A familiar voice. Taia startled and whirled to see Silus leaning against the doorframe, Laughing as she jumped. "well it's not like I can read it!" Taia exclaimed. "True, true" Silus sauntered in and with one hand, closed the book. It thumped firmly with the sound of denial and finality. " what is it?" Taia asked. Silus seemed to consider a moment, before answering. Obviously deciding there was no harm in her knowing. "it's like a spellbook. For really dangerous and complicated magic. Knowledge collected over hundreds of years by Metisat." Taia's eyes got big, at the hint of how old Metisat must be, even in elvin years, that would be almost older than time, Especially to a baby girl elf like herself. "What sort of spells?" She asked. Of course. Silus held out his hand to show her the tattoo that wound around his finger. "Spells like that." He said. Taia looked at him, her brows gathered. "It has a spell to put tattoos on people?" She asked. Silus laughed again. " no. The tattoo IS a spell. It binds me to Metisat, so She always knows i'm alright, and I always know She's alright." "Wow" Is all Taia could say to that. She stepped down off the dias and took Si's hand. She was smart enough to realize that the magic in that book, was nothing she wanted to mess with.
