I am an environmental scientist. A large part of my career has been dedicated to scientific research into the structure of ecosystems and factors that affect them. Quite early on, it became apparent that certain mathematical iterative principles formed geometries that coincided exactly with those found in natural ecosystems. And by ecosystems, I do not mean just plants and animals. The same principles also apply to quantum physics, geology, meteorology and on up to the formation of galaxies. These relationships were championed most publicly by the brilliant mathematician Benoît Mandelbrot, the founder of fractal geometry.
To my mind, the structure of natural ecosystems through application of these iterative processes revealed not only the genius and subtlety of nature but also its incomparable beauty. Â

Hmm, a pompous worm hole? Nope.. Raspberries, and a glowing alien burger... Yummy. :)

Wonderful presentation Stan. I have never found any of your explanations sounding pompous. There are some where i admit i found i was at a loss to understand, but that is all the more reason i am very grateful you post them. I find i have learned a great deal from following your gallery. This image alone is a masterpiece of fractal work, but would only be that much more expanded if accompanied by thoughts on plausable ideas about wormholes. If someone just wants to enjoy the images they are always free to just look, enjoy and move on, but there are many of us that also very much enjoy you imparting the ideas you have.

Hehehehe Fantastic image! I agree with greyone: Your explanations never sound pompous to me. Corrie

beau travail!

An excellent creation with a lovely depth to this wormhole. You look to have used a lot of layers to get this great effect.

I like the bright colors over the more subtle background colors. no wormhole could ever look this cool!

Oh well, let me use then my own imagination, which I love to use (lol). But first let me say I appreciate your explanation. They help to interpret your filtered results that can be seen always in your artwork. Although I must confess also that I can't always do things properly read and understand. Probably because I'm Dutch, and because of the pain and difficulty with reading and writing. That aside, of course. This fractal I think it's great to see, to explore the caves of the holes, the structures formed and sign them. The color patterns. I love it! Thanks for your comment on my last fractal. Your interpretation of what that showed, was almost mine too. You as the only one, went 'my same path' in mind then. ;-) Wishing you a lovely weekend!

Wonderful!
