Description

I've always enjoyed Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem "The Village Blacksmith". So here is my homage, complete with spreading chestnut tree, to that epic narrative. This picture is a tribute & thank you to all of the hard-working veterans! I would also like to say "Happy Birthday" to JaneEden & Pixeluna. In addition I am sending prayers to Adrie & PassionateGuy. Excellent work. This scene is wonderful. I would guess as the dog looks on, he is thinking, "boy i"m glad they dont nail shoes on to my feet" :)

Fantastic scene! I really like the mood and atmosphere here.... it's so brilliantly detailed; and has that "Autumn" aura that give it that much more energy and intrigue! Lovely definition of the Blacksmith (particularly the arms) :) Subtle and yet not that easy to miss.. hehe. Love the inquisitive and eager expression of the children (and the little doggy too !!)... this is lovely!
