Description
The guy in the Museum said to the pilot that his old railway engine was faster than the pilot's little aeroplane. So, the only way to settle this argument was by actual contest. Thus was born The Great American Train Race which is shown above. You might say it could never happen, but who knows......?

Actually, it seems that I remember someone doing something exactly like that way back in the early days of aviation. Think I even saw a picture of it. The aircraft was a bi-plane of some sort, though, and the steam engine was a bit more modern looking.

September 29, 1910 from Washington Park in Chicago to the State Fairgrounds in Springfield. The aircraft was a Wright Flier, and it won. Cool update, I think that small Gee-Bee would win hands down, great image.
