Description

Joan of Arc, the Maid of Orléans, was a French peasant girl who, inspired by visions from God, rose up to lead the French armies in the Hundred Years Wars. Joan said that God told her that she should aid the Dauphin (the uncrowned heir to the throne of France, Charles VII) and he sent her to lift the siege of Orléans, hence her moniker "The Maid of Orléans." At one point Joan was captured by her enemies and tried by Church officials (enemy ones) who said her visions and the voices she heard were not from God but from the devil. She was burned at the stake on May 30, 1431. Pope Callixtus III (not an enemy of the French) had her re-tried posthumously, and on July 7, 1456 she was declared innocent. For all the centuries since, Joan of Arc has been an inspiration and model for pure courage and single-mindedness of vision in the support of people and country. This images depicts Joan in a side chapel of the cathedral receiving one of her visions as she was alone in prayer just before going into battle. The image is worth a zoom....click! I am dedicating this image to Jenny (pixeluna), an artist who as been an inspiration to me in her work, and a great encouragement to me in my efforts. Thank you, my sister! I am a day late but I hope you had a very Happy Birthday....and many more! Thanks to all of your for looking and your wonderful comments! Previously :

What really amaze me when you capture a scene like this is its profound meaning. Your words, of course add to the details but the image speaks for itself. You can even tell the time of day from the lighting that peeks through the stained glass windows, her face expression tells how she feels and what her thoughts were. Her dignified stance tells us about her conviction of faith. Your careful planning of your works and how you put them together is actually the real essence of each image you post. It's not just a render, it's how it was created and the idea that came with it. My brother, you amaze so many of these Artists but I wonder and marvel at your works. There's something more than just the image. It's how it was presented that makes it so delightful to look at.

first a very nice and clean bday dedication.well done. second:the church(es)always afraid of strong woman,to keep the priests fully indoctrinated and not get divertet or influenced by woman they invented the celibate thats why they play for thousands of years already with little boys. just imagine for a short monment what evil has already been done in the name of god or jesus. i never had problems with the lord or whatever name /entity we may give him/her/it,i always had problems with indoctrination and religions. i think a lot of "souls"will be in for a big surprise when going on the long journey and crossing the border to other realms/dimensions. my youngest brother (on paper)is really believeing that i am evil because i have asthma, and that comes from the devils (lmao),and he comes sitting straight next to jesus on the right hand side even. another neighbour cut of his communal tv antenna because thats devilish the tv hehehehe. poor sob.we broke off all contact. sorry i got carried away but i had to say this,

The one thing that will always stand out to me is the ingratitude of those she facilitated among the French Nobles. When the Duke sought ransom for her capture everyone from the Dauphine (then King) down couldn't spare the funds for her release. So not only is she an inspiration, she is also a lesson in human nature. Great Image, very uplifting and, yes, inspirational! Wonderful Dedication to a wonderful person!
