Description
As to my fried hard drive dock, to those who've asked, that WAS my back up. The dock itself was not fried, that I know of, just the connecting power pack/transformer. Melted a hole right into it.
No power surge, nothing else was bothered. & yes, I do have a good surge protector on everything.
Up in these high desert mountains, the power freaks out when I sneeze. Not to mention I seem to attract lightning ever since I was struck by it 24 years ago. So I put them on all my electronics. I can't even wear watches. I fry them, too. Lol.
Sigh.......

you should have everything important double backed up the price of large drives is in credibly cheap these days I learned the hard way a couple of years ago usually on e drive wil go but not both when one goes then use the other and back up immediately since then I never worry good to see you getting back into the swing of things again!!

I have the same problem with watches AND cell phones :( I have never had a cell phone that was not full of static, yet no one else has that problem on the same phone, go figure. I can wear a wind up watch, but batteries or digital forget it. Fantastic image, I love the three headed beastie!
