Description
I've been following the news and the TSA people have to either let the TSA take nude x-ray pics of them (radiation and invasion of privacy yeay), get sexually assaulted (perverts and pedophiles, yeay), or face a 10k fine (theft yeay). While I think that safety is a concern, frankly I think the government is crossing (another) line into criminal behavior. And if the terrorists want to kill people, they'll just do it at the line a crowd is standing in to get patted down or x-rayed. So it's not like we are all that much safer, we've just moved where and how we'll get killed.
What worries me most is when I saw another story about this on the news last night I really started to doubt my support for america if we have to infringe on the rights of everyone because there might be one or two terrorists. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?
There is no protection of liberty in what the government is doing, and certainly no justice.
Frankly I think we should just wrap the insides of a plane in kevlar and let people bring loaded 9mm handguns on board... as long as the kevlar is think enough, the plane won't go down but the terrorists will.

I am so glad someone noticed that our government controls everything, including civil rights and freedom. It also has the right to tell people what they can and can not do. Anyone who believes we live in a democracy is a fool.

You left out frisking nuns and three year old girls. But of course they say this is all for our own good. Of course, the scum who forced this on us don't have to go through this. They're entitled to just walk on by the rest of us.

“ LET’S GET NEKKID! “ (It’s always easy to tell who the best man is at a nude wedding.) I have an idea. We have a climate these days where someone can strap on a vest, laden with high explosives and detonate it amongst a crowd of innocent men, women, and children. All in the name of -- what’s it in the name of, again? We’ll never catch all the bad guys simply by trying to search everyone who wants to board an airplane, a bus, or a train. So, I propose the following most obvious solution -- Let’s all just get NEKKID! -- That’s right, you heard me. I said, NEKKID. As in your ‘birthday suit’. Just stop and think about it, without first hyperventilating, dear people. Everyone just LOVES the new craze of reality television shows. So, it just makes common sense to make the best of this genre that’s sweeping the country and the world. “When in Rome do as the Romans do”. Think about it my fellow humans. What could be more ‘reality’ than ALL of humanity going Nekkid? Everywhere. Where could someone hide a vest packed with enough TNT explosive materials to send a group of people to utopia? Huge numbers of screeners at airports would no longer be required. Just have each person walk through the turn-style gates and a simple, quick, Peek-a-Boo would be all that was required to ascertain if someone was packin’. (Explosives, I mean). I must admit, the thought of having to see all of my fellow humans in the flesh gives me some pause. However, it’s for a far greater cause. So, I think that behooves us, one and all, to suck it up (so to speak) and do your duty to all of mankind. End of suicide bombers! Since we’ll no longer need those vast amount of human screeners, I propose that we take those soon unemployed and train them to become psychologists. Most surely, after seeing ME and some others, there will be a pressing demand for such help and guidance. For the record, I can handle the looks towards me that say, “Wow TallPockets, you’ve really let yourself go!”, just fine. It will be embarrassing, but hey, it could save lives! (My own trips to a local shrink will be a good thing for me because I need a professional to tell me how to handle my reaction to others who surely will giggle my direction after seeing ME stroll into a terminal or loading station buck NEKKID). Who knows, maybe I’ll even meet “MRS.” TallPockets much quicker than I might? (I’ll weed out the contenders by finding the ones who do NOT ’giggle’). Revealingly and sometimes life ain‘t pretty folks yours, TallPockets - 2005!

I don't know why everybody around the world is so afraid of stating the obvious. We have to be inconvenienced by all this stuff because Middle Eastern Arabs keep hijacking planes and flying them into buildings. That's pretty much all there is to it. The problems isn't the TSA or the American government or some shadowy black ops security firm that's out to rob us of our rights and dignity. The problem is crazy Middle Eastern Arabs. Every single hijacked plane originating from the USA in the last 28 years was hijacked by Middle Eastern Arab Muslims. Not a single Jew, Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Satanist or pagan has taken the initiative to steal a fully loaded plane and fly it into building. It's been 100% Arab Muslim. 100% really makes it pretty easy to spot the problem. I know, I know. Everyone gets nervous when you say it out loud. It's not politically correct to point out the problem, especially if the problem can be so easily defined as one very specific group of people. And for those of you who read this and cringed, wishing I hadn't written it, ask yourself why it makes you nervous. I think that pretty much proves the point. People are afraid of pointing out the problem because they fear a Muslim backlash. Well...that pretty much proves the point now, doesn't it? What are we willing to do about it? Well, so far very little. We're so afraid of stating the obvious that we're willing to go through all these hassles rather than just call a spade a spade. For my money, it's easier to start by first identifying the spade.

What's to stop terrorists from learning enough martial arts to threaten crews and passengers with their bare hands? Besides, the dangers aboard planes aren't going to be the people in Moslem religious garb, as they're too conspicuous. The real threats will board planes in Dockers, J. Crew and L.L. Bean clothes, like they did on September 11.

@Killebrew: people get upset at that sort of talk because it damns an entire group for the actions of its worst members. Do you want to be judged by the worst actions of your group? Trust me, you won't fare any better. @Winterclaw: It died at the hands of "security theater." Not actual security practices, but nonsense made to make the rubes feel safer.

Who sponsors dictatorship is rewarded at the end with the pleasure of living in a dictatorship. Apartheid must be also something very good.

Sorry I can’t justify the liberal idea that we have to apply scrutiny to everyone or else no one at all, why in the last 20 years have we lost the right and ability to apply commonsense? Back in the 40s no one had a problem with demonizing Nazism, even though essentially it’s was the same scenario radicals (who happened to be in charge) did bad things. I’m sorry I’m a little more logical than to just give Islam a blanket OK simply because it’s a religion. It’s a belief system that elevates certain races above others no different than Nazism they just say “Ala Akbar” rather than “highl Hitler”. Yes other religions do this as well but in the case of Islam radicals are acting on these beliefs, their radical clerics are teaching these beliefs, and in several cases leaders of entire countries have made these beliefs part of law and national agenda. What happened to “liberty and justice for all” I’ll tell you, we lost our first motto “Don’t Tread on Me” We have lost the healthy fear and respect of other nations and are now scrambling like cowards scrutinizing our own and in the pretence of not “offending” we apply the scrutiny across lines we know to be unnecessary. “Be well Lanina Huxley” this is the world you wanted.

Previous comment: "Agree with JasonZZ. Some people here are retarded I'm sure. Justice for all? Yeah especially for those in Guantanamo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, list goes on and on...." LOL At this point I wish to mention "Godwin's law". It had to happen..... LOL

I heartily endorse your recommendation for armed passengers. One such person exercising his rights as protected by the Second Amendment would have prevented each tragedy on Nine Eleven. Now the Second and the Fourth are discarded. Your outrage in general, over the assaults on our liberty from the TSA, matches mine. Your smoothly rendered female paladin of liberty makes an artistic match to such feelings.

Yep. Let's just not allow Arabs on planes. Then all we have to do is identify Arabs. Or anybody they might HIRE to do their dirty work because there are no billionaire Arabs...right? Then there's those LOOK-ALIKE Syrians, Iraqis, Somalis, Turks,Pakistanis,Indonesians, Hispanics, Africans, Jamaicans,Jordanians, Hawaiians, or anybody else whose skin happens to be a "vaguely Arabic" color we choose to distrust. Or better yet, more databases, and surveillance. Yeah....like we TRUST that. Or perhaps we should fill those databases with Islamic followers, and then we'll hire some non-partial observers to sort out which ones are extremists, or fundamentalists, because we know THEY'LL ADVERTISE, and we'll just make them wear armbands when they're in public. Have we been here before? Flight is a choice. We choose our vacations, our jobs, and our locations. Soon many people will simply choose other options. Heck, many of us do that now. After we've eliminated all the people we distrust(everybody), airliners will no longer be economically viable, so...THAT'S IT!! ELIMINATE COMMERCIAL FLIGHT. PROBLEM SOLVED. If we target enough people, and technology, we can open up Taliban franchises worldwide. "Papers, please" goes Global! Didn't we already have that war? Spare me. If simply being a racist would solve the problem, I might agree with the Islamo-phobia spewed here. But IT WON'T. If something stinks, don't spread it around.

The isreali system has less to do about racism and more to do about proper observations. They use something like 4 soft and 2 hard layers a lot of it is just paying attention to what's going on. They put their system in place because they didn't want to strip search people and they wanted to be able to get someone through the airport in about a half an hour. And I didn't see any islamic terrorists use a isreali airline jet on 9-11. BTW, strip searching 4-year-olds has less to do with security and more to do with pedophilia.
