Description

I am returned - and for those who have not missed my person - shame on you! ^=^ I had a slight 'flare up' so had to take it easy for a while. Feeling much better on Saturday, visited the beach - as ya do! Got bowled over by collie and thought leg was broken! As it turned out, I have torn the muscle down the front of my right thigh! Isn't life just wonderful!! ('tis actually - just not right at this minute!) ^=^ So - I'm screwed basically! And it's a double whammy, 'cos I have a new camera and am dying to use it! Plus, the day is beautiful....and I am tempted to get walking stick for support and get to the beach...watch this space! In the meantime, here is an older image of Polperro and No1 son doing what he does best! That's him, just to the left of the warning sign! Atop the cliff to the right of my son is a path. On the path are a couple taking a safe (that's SAFE!) walk! That is what the path is for! For folks who wish to take in the wonderful views without danger of death! Not so No1 son. It just has to be a 'man thing'! ^=* The other reason I took this was because of the stone remnants over to the right of my son, now covered with earth. So much so that it actually looks to be built into the cliffside. I asked around and no one knew anything about it, though I shall still find out just what it was sooner or later. The up turned 'V' above the 'wall' is most certainly man made and a part of the whole structure. It is obviously very old indeed. I wish now I had asked my son to take my camera so as to get a closer view from a better angle. I did not think, however, that he would actually take that particular route! Seeing as it was dangerous! ^=^ The house in the image was abandoned years ago, so I was told. Hardly surprising, considering a great part of the cliff which was once the front garden of the house now "resides with the fishes" - all of whom, at least in my world, now tend the cabbages and take freshly cut daisies into their houses each day! I like my world!! ^=^ The cliffs here are mostly slate with some granite thrown in for good measure. The views from the top of the highest points are spectacular, especially so when the weather is rough. The waves hitting the cliffsides makes for some really dramatic photographs! Enough rambling! Sitting at computer is not the most comfortabe position to be in at the moment! ^=^ Thank you for taking the time to look. ^=^ Short update: No beach! Cornwall is a wash out - apparently. The valley, Par, St. Blazey Gate and St. Austell have 'copters removing folk from their flooded homes. My daughter was just able to get through to the school! (we live up very high - fortunately). So good, is it not, that there is no such thing as global warming........

Great Scott, Carpathia! What a time you're having!! I was about to find out why you were misssing again but decided you couldn't possibly have had yet another accident so soon after the last...WRONG! This is a fascinating place you show us here. It's not long ago that I would have been with your son on his adventure, but alas not now. Ralph sends his regards to Barney, well he would if he could!

This is a great image sweetie I zoomed in and soaked in the entire image it's self The scene does look dangerous and very dramatic I don't think I would be attempt to walk there myself..maybe walk over and find a sit for awhile and contemplate and look over the view from where I would be sitting..The house itself does look like it is leaning to the right..Is it or I imagine this? Plz let me know........... Hope you get on the mend soon........I have been up to ER 2 times this weekend myself....was so proud of not going then 2 times in a row...........now have to see a OB/GYN get a pap smear done then go back for Dr to read me results.... Shouldn't be happening at all had complete hysterectomy in the 80's so I am kinda afraid and wondering myself...seems I can't win for using.... Great image here sis I am off it is 5am hubby starts to work soon say a prayer for been having odd ones.......really disturbing Any and all are accepted Hugs Susan~ I can imagine it dark with the waves washing up against the shore line.... Just like the opening of an old novel we used to read...:) Def a fav with me:)

Wonderful part of the coast, great shot.....and i hope your leg gets better soon. I did the coastal path one year, Mousehole to St Ives, camped every night on a different beach.......those were the days. And at the end, when i got there had the best crab soup and pint of bitter i have ever tasted.....think i am going to have to go back now for a visit :-)

I most definitely hope that your leg mends perfectly and that you're up and about soon, enjoying your new camera. I have a quasi new tripod I'm anxious to use...quasi new in that it's new for ME, but it's a bit long in the tooth and full of wonderful trophy scars from where the previous owner probably dropped it down a cliff like this one. I love this shot. The POV is marvelous and your son picking his way along a treacherous path actually reminds me of something I read in a science fiction story involving, you guessed it, aliens. It was a rather humorous tale in ways, especially since the aliens were so...alien. Apparently they had a concept of real estate that humans just couldn't understand. The ground, you see, was immensely valuable, because it kept you from falling all the way down...which basically means that the ground exists simply to break your fall! Anyway, enough rambling. I love this shot, the color, the verdant life, the diminutive human focus...and that warning sign so small and yet so full of the sort of hysteria such signs often embody. This is marvelous and I'm glad I saw it! Excellent work!
