Tried a softer look, but not really my cup of tea. :o) Hope to get some input on it, though.

The light is lovely, and the composition is very nicely done. You did a great job with the soft look ... but only you can decide it you like it or not! :)

I think this is quite effective and perfectly composed and executed. I like it quite a lot, and I'm not really sure that there is such a thing as an actual critique of this, since--in my opinion--you achieved what you set out to do, and you did it beautifully. What I really like is the darkened background, it really draws attention to the rose petals and their details. I also like the softened sense of color...not only is it a visually soft picture, but the sense of color is soft as well. I like that quite a bit, and IF I were to suggest anything, it would be the most minor of postwork tweaks...just a wee bit of sharpening of the middle section...it's not necessary, but it's a nice thing to play around with. But in short, I do like this immensely; it has a good vibe to it.
