Description
This crystal candy dish my sister-in-law gave to my mother-in-law many years ago. My mother-in-law gave it to me shortly before she passed away in 2007. My sister-in-law died in 2001. Every Holiday season I fill this candy dish with peppermint candies. It keeps the memories alive.

I love photos like this! The details are fantastic, and glass is such a challenge to photograph! There's always so much excitement, so many surfaces, subsurfaces, and reflections...you've done an excellent job with this, and the candies inside give a nice and complimentary splash of color. I think that any "colors" would be complimentary, truth be told, but what you've done here is particular effective, as the red is nice and warm and imparts such a relaxing mood. The glass itself is almost metallic in color: one of the things that drew me to this photo. I like colors in the "metal range" if that makes any sense. In short, this is marvelous, and I'm glad I came across your gallery! Great little write-up too; I love it when images have a particular history behind or around them. In short, this is all around great work. I like it a lot.

I love glass, and am fascinated by the interaction between light and glass. This photo is right up my alley. Not only the candy broken by the angles of the glass, but they're all wrapped in plastic as well, which adds another dimension. Super shot!
