Description

I went to closest lake yesterday and played with my new camera. I don't think for one second I've cracked it quite yet! I have had the finepix for over two years, and I still haven't got the hang of that one, so this new specimen is going to take some time. Regardless, it is easier for me to hold as it is lighter and the dials are a doddle, even for someone whose thumbs no longer work! The one (and only) thing Imery's gets right as far as I'm concerned, is their lake construction. And that's because they get the licence fees from those wishing to toss hooks at fish! This is one such lake, completely surrounded by newly erected barbed wire - as if that would keep would-be poachers out - and a lovely sight once the aforementioned wire is behind rather than ahead! It's amazing what one can do with determination, aid from one's offspring, and evil intent!! Finding some strategically placed steps (poachers?) was of great help too! My leg is almost fully healed. That tells me it was not a tear, but just a simple pulled muscle. Tears don't heal that quickly! Doctors eh? Such drama queens! ^=^ The zoom size is a panorama, the best of 3 that I took, so it's a little on the large size. You have been warned! ^=^ You will see a tiny spec way over to the left. It's a cormorant, and a close up will follow soon. ^=^ Thank you for taking the time to look. ^=^

What a landscape! There is so much to see here, and it's deliciously rich! I love the fact that as I scroll around, I can see an almost tiered pattern to some of the plants in the background as well as wonderful details, shapes, and subtle grades of color. Everything is so incredibly alive and green, and it seems very warm, not necessarily in terms of temperature, but in terms of the overall mood: there's a sense that this place is hospitable--at least as a world and not a lake or a park. I like that implication...yeah, and okay, I like the fact that I can't see a road/street or anything else that implies that there's a big, whompin' human community around, spewing garbage out of its hind end. Marvelous work!
