Here's the close up (sort of), of the Cormorant by the lake I posted yesterday. It's the quietest and safest time for him to visit this area, as Imery's owns a pub near to the lake by the side of which is a very large meadow holding holiday caravans. These are packed during the season, as is this lake, with those that wish to toss hooks at fish - or 'hook tossers' as they are known hereabouts! ^=* I was hoping to also see a few Egrets or the resident Heron, a really handsome chap who uses every lake in the region over the course of a days' hunting, but alas no sign of either. Sooner or later though, I'll catch him! ^=^ Cold today. Last night I encased my palm tree in a frost proof blanket. I've never had to do that this soon into the Winter period. However, on the bright side, the day is beautiful, so it all evens out. The birds are feeding as I speak - type - on the slabs of seeded and peanutted (new word I just made up!) suet cake I make for them - and that's not an easy thing to do, if one is vegan, I can tell you - but needs must....and the birds' need is great!
