Description

"Trouble with the nebula, sir, is all that static discharge and gas clouds our tactical display. Visual won't function and shields will be useless." Not a great place to put a space station then. But cool looking. Models created in Wings, rendered in Carrara in a single pass. I did a LOT of post work on this one but nothing seemed quite right. Even sharpening it made the Enterprise look like an overlay. So, this is actually straight out of Carrara. The only postwork was to reduce the flare a bit. Thanks for looking.

I love it when someone actually quotes The Wrath of Khan perfectly: I can hear James Horner's amazing score in the background. Wonderful work. I've always liked that version of the Enterprise...but then, I've always had a thing for exposed warp emitters. This is a fantastic and moody piece of work...and a nebula like this is actually the perfect place for a covert, black ops Federation station...maybe not a big ol starbase like this one, but definitely something the size of the Regula station...little and easy to hide. This is really great stuff. I like it a lot!
