My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

I'm not bored - I enjoyed them all. I think the last time I was through Wyoming was 1972. Thanks for all your hard work putting this together.

Lovely collage. 14th-15th is a cool sight. Gotta love those rocks popping up here and there.

The trouble with the plains states are the straight roads. You tend to fall asleep. I remember dozing in the passenger's seat when I was awakened by the bouncing of the car as it drifted off the road and out onto the plains. My friend, the driver, had also fallen asleep. Number 15 is my favorite, it has a curve in the road.

So depressing for someone from Dorset, I should HATE it! Great shots in both sets, though.

Busy with my second cup now... This has been a experience - snow fences - the closest I can relate to is rock fences around Chapmans Peak drive...! Thank you! Clive

I love "Through the car window shots" great job

Great job on these two Wyoming collages. Most memorable. Now from the driver's perspective, there was a lot of straight roads in Wyoming but it undulated often to keep things lively and there were quite a few other cars and trucks to remain clear of going in both directions... If you want straight roads and sleepy time, North Dakota is the place to drive! I once drove from Leavenworth, Kansas due north to Winnipeg, Canada (750 miles). Driving north through North Dakota, I turned to my family and said, "Can you believe this...here we are on an Interstate Highway (big 4-lane, divided highway) and I have not turned the steering wheel one degree left or right for over an hour and a half, I have not seen another car or truck in either direction and all I've seen are fields of sunflowers following the afternoon sun on both sides of the road."

I think they should throw away the speed limits and let people race across it as fast as they possibly can. Excellent collage!

I can remember weekend drives when we lived in Cheyanne in 1957. Rolling hills, plains, mountains, rocky outcrops, all in an afternoons' drive. I hope to go back sometime. Excellent photo essay, Tara!

Fine sequence of photos from your passage through beautiful and rugged Wyoming.

The flat bits remind me of the South East here. Thankfully, I no long inhabit such a place. The outcrops however, are adorably strange! Like monoliths, and who doesn't love monoliths! Magnificent collection. ^=^

Hey, you couldn't have been that bored - you stayed awake to take these great pics... I always consider the journey as part of any holiday. We also have our Wyoming - the Karoo - which stretches across half the country, but there are always beautiful and interesting vistas and rock formations around nearly every corner. Or sometimes not even around corners - I remember one road where there was one single 20 degree kink in over 80 km (50 miles) (and I was on my own in the car) - but I still found plenty to look at... Did I mention that these are great pics?

Fantastic country, memories of Saturday morning cinema, the only thing missing is John Wayne. If I ever get to America this is the place for me.If memory serves, Wyoming was the location for Close Encounters of the Third Kind?, I can see why.
