My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Mighty nice. Your photo has caused me to do something that visiting the garden did not do...at the time of our visit...inspire me to find out more about Japanese gardening. I've heard lots about these gardens but a quick trip to this link has focused my thinking and made me want to find out even more before our next trip to one: Philosophy - Japanese Garden Journal There was so much going on in this little garden space that I wasn't sure what to focus on...maybe next time I'll get it:)

Were it not for all the wildlife I have here, I'd go for a Japanese type garden. This is really lovely. Simple and beautiful. Fantastic shot! ^=^

Stellar depth, focus and lighting effects in this nature pic. Add air and fire and I believe you would have the complete recipe of elements, according to the ancients.

Lovely photo, Tara! I can almost hear the trickle of water. How relaxing and magical! You know - speaking of magick - I think I can see a lovely faerie sitting on that rock.... Just beyond the grassy spot.... (wink) :-D

Good overall exposure, for having the lens open so long, to get the blur on the water ... very soft and beautiful image, BB

If I were wearing socks, they'd be knocked off by this shot--wow!!

he shot itself is beautiful, the diagonal of the tuft of grass in the lower left paralleled by the trees & green of the upper right (diagonal frames), with the rock & water coursing through the middle on the same diagonal: Very intuitive composition, tara, very 'right'. But then there's your postwork, and it's splendid. The painter in you comes to the fore. The hues are beautiful as is, but your treatment of them, and the somewhat milky treatment of many of the surfaces makes this part painting, and part construction in light. By removing some of the harder detail, you've made rock into gentle light, and the back & foreground into plush carpeting embracing the rock. It's a real tara piece, it's lush and beautiful, and simply framed by your composition. And btw, when you said you saw this with "Mark"---before I read WHICH Mark---I thought, "reeeeeally???? Was I THAT out of it in Sept???? Did I go to Seattle???? Why didn't someone TELL me!!!" From now on, indicate the sitename first or I'll have a heart attack! The water, btw, sings like a subtle opal...beautiful work.
