Description

Hermes (Mercury in the Roman pantheon) was in Greek mythology the son of Zeus and the messenger of the Gods to men. He is often depicted with winged sandals and a winged hat to symbolize the swiftness of messages he delivers...as if they fly. He also carries the caduceus, a rod with intertwined serpents and surmounted by wings. It is a sign that he is a herald of the gods. Son of Zeus, the chief of the Olympian deities, Hermes also had several famous sons, including Pan an Eros. In our scene Zeus, holding a golden lightening bolt as the symbol of his supreme power, sends forth Hermes from Olympus to carry his message to mortal men. Judging by Zeus' expression, it does not appear to be a pleasant message...but fulfilling his duty Hermes swiftly flies forth to deliver it. Please ZOOM for a sharper image! The lighting of this scene is superb. What lights did you use or did you just add about 25 of your own ;) Did it take long to render I wonder...I would think something of this realistic light caliber would kill my computer LOL! Great job as always. I love your young Zeus. This is actually kind of the look of my young Zeus in my new novella. Not some old cranky looking man...no no that won't do...Zeus needs to be hawt LOL. The DOF on this one is very nice whether it's really there or just something I'm seeing from the layout. Great job!

No, no, no, it's an age old game Zeus liked to play that eventually developed into American football! (true story!) "Herme's go long!" "Aw man! Again???" "GO!" grumble "ok, ok!" ZAP "ow"

LOL Zeus does look like he is "inspiring" Hermes to get a move on. And what a cutie Hermes is! You just want to squeeze him, though it's something you'd probably regret later, the little prankster;) (Hermes has always been my fave of the Greek gods, he seems like he'd be amusing company, even if he'd lift your change and watch).
