Description
This piper plays and struts his stuff at Gretna Green just over the border from England.
Gretna Green is very famous for eloping couples from England who couldn't get permission from their parents to get married, they came here and gave their wedding vows over an anvil as this was a blacksmiths forge. I actually know couples who have done this. It all happened many years ago.
As you can see he is not very tall!
Also if you go into bmac62s comment you can link to a video of him actually playing.

Love the gritty look on the face of this superbly confident piper. Purely by coincidence, here's your piper on Youtube: Click Here

Looks fantastic, Jeff! Very impressing. A perfect shot( Scot), a bull's-eye. ;D And yes, I know the stories of Gretna Green. Also of Dutch couples who got married secretly.

Beautiful portrait of this piper. Many interesting details in his outfit. Perhaps I would have asked the piper to stand in front of the white wall instead of this gate in order to emphasize all the beautiful details of his outfit.

Impressive...I love the sound of massed pipes.very stirring sound. Easy to understand why the highland regiments were led into battle by the pipes...

I recognised that straight away from the thumbnail - Great picture! My wife and I 'ran away' together and were married there eleven and a bit years ago, after a whirlwind six weeks and six days romance. Several weeks later we met each other's parents for the first time, lol. That was scary! I can't honestly recall what our piper looked like, I was too busy looking at my gorgeous lady, but it might have been him. Thanks for bringing back some fantastic memories.
