From an anthropological point of view, this is a symbolic representation of the human habit of putting feathers on things. ANYTHING. If it exists, humans, somewhere, will probably put feathers on it. Having said that, I'll also say that this is quite an arresting photograph. Things like this always fascinate me, because, I think in my heart of hearts, I AM something of an anthropologist, and even though I recognize that humans put feathers on things, it always fascinates me that feathers mean so many different things, when they're on anything but a bird. I love the muted colors in this and the POV...it's obvious this skull and it's decorations have very specific (and sacred) meanings, and I'm really amazed at the deft way in which you've captured that. This is a great piece of work.
