I love this shot, Helle! WOW! This is absolutely gorgeous! When I saw the thumbnail, I knew these were icicles, but I thought of them as the trunks of fantastical Ice Trees from some fascinating planet where everyone probably speaks Danish. My mind is a strange place to inhabit at times! I love the colors in this. You have given such life and beauty to ice and light and this is a stunning, beautiful piece of work! I love it.

Stunning on first glance and even more so on greater study! Wonderful capture of all the interactions between icicles and light. I love the bands caused by the light and landscape, and the way they are streaked by the texture of the icicle. I love the etched patterns, some on the surface and others deep in the icicles. I love the dark lines of the edges, and the way it contrasts with the bright light in the icicles. I love the crisp vibrancy of the colors and light. Absolutely stunning all around.

well Lucinda said it all, I can retire now! This is a great shot. All your icicle shots have been great, but this one is a masterpiece. Full size, it's positively looming. You've really captured the striations on the ice, almost like carvings by an unknown hand; and the light coming through in such mysterious ways. And the bands of light & dark running across them. (A sundown shot? Late day? It seems like it.) And the gnarled almost human shape of the 'limbs'...this is just a great ice shot, showing all the power & patterns contained in simple ice. With shots like these, it's too bad this will soon melt. It's like seeing a great tree & knowing that in 2 weeks it'll all dissolve. A majestic powerhouse of an image. Wonderful work, Helle.
