Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

another of your silhouetted sunset shots, and here the sun is eating up one of the trunks (as the sun will do when it's intense & hot). Beautiful natural effect. And, like a previous sunset---also in silhouette---you've captured the sun at the very bottom of the shot, turning the usual composition around by putting it on the bottom rather than in mid-ground or top: It gives the stage to the trees themselves, which are like a big church-nave to the sun. Beautiful amber tones, and it's almost Japanese in its simplicity. Another beautiful sunset from you, Marilyn.

I love the sun peeking around the tree; it adds a certain oomph to this photo and your're perfectly right, those colors are vivid and alive...very warm and comforting, especially now that I'm looking this on the coldest night I've endured this year. I love those silhouettes. This whole shot comes together perfectly!
