UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

A venerable name for this textured character... Given Tara's dappled question... less is more!? I like it, Clive

Splendid clarity, contrast and battered texture in this shot of the little boat, Bill.

Isn't it funny how these old boats become very photogenic as they decay!

Super composition, and I love your postwork choices. Textures, light, shadows ... it's wonderful! I can almost feel how cool the sand would be on the shady side of the boat. Excellent image!

Beautiful shot Bill this looks like a long lost boat waiting to be claimed..

Visions of 1950's 'Summer Camp' and a row of these craft. Each one shiny and new with the name of a famous Chief on the bow.Strange vision for me to have, as I wasn't around in the 50's and we never had Summer Camp. Love the lighting and texture in this shot, have to say that's a 'substantial' mooring line.Though, if it's a trail marker, you wouldn't want it wandering off :-)

excellent pov you chose Bill

Really nice composition and angle on this, Bill! There's just something fascinating about old boats.. I'll have to admit I was a bit taken aback at the 'anchor' chain on this, until I read the part about it beinf a trail marker! :-D

I really like this a lot. Things, as they start to decay, take on a different and fuller character; as if decay allows them to grow into what they actually should be, or maybe it's just that decay looks so cool! You've captured this perfectly and I love the colors, the textures, the overall mood, and that name sounds deliciously Klingon or something: ah, but Star Trek has a habit of stealing stuff from every known Earth culture and attributing it to aliens played by actors with lots of latex on their foreheads. This is a fantastic shot! I love it.
